Car sales grow by 5.39%

Car sales grow by 5.39%Car sale in India witnessed 5.39% growth rate which is lower than the growth rate in the corresponding period of the previous year. The growth rate of the popular brands has declined overall. However, sale of some brads increased due to heavy discounts on some models.

The data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) revealed that 6,00,385 units of cars were sold during April-September period of the year. The M800 is the biggest loser with sale decline of 17 percent. However, the dealers claimed that its LPG version would perform better.

The sale of Tata Indica is also declined by over 24% with the sale of 8,598 units. Same story is associated with Mahindra Logan which witnessed sale down of 26% with sale of 9,217 units in the first half of the year.

The executive category also showed decline in the growth but the BMW 3-series, Mercedes C-Class and Toyota Corolla remained popular brands with positive growth trend.
