Mumbai, Feb 7 : Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan has asserted that the state government would provide ample security measures to ensure the smooth screening of Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan''s upcoming flick ''My Name Is Khan''.

Chavan clarified his government''s stand while reacting to the Shiv Sena''s declaration not to allow the screening of the movie.

Shahrukh Khan did not apologise for backing the participation of Pakistani cricketers in the Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament.

Chavan said, "Not only Shahrukh''s films but any film that has been certified by the Censor Board and it is being screened in any theatre in Maharashtra will be given full protection."

"People who want to go and watch it should go and enjoy it. I will also go and watch it," he added.

Unfazed by the Sena threat, the actor and owner of Kolkata Knight Riders, a franchised cricket team in the IPL, stuck to his stand that Pakistani players should have been included in the upcoming IPL and that ''Mumbai is for all Indians''.

Khan has said he has been misunderstood and he would surely meet Shiv Sena supreme Bal Thackeray. (ANI)
