China is expected to join India on taking a stand against the US Border Security Act, as per which the H1B and L1 visa fees will be doubled.
Talking to CNBC TV 18, government sources have said that the issue may be raised when President Obama visits Indian during October.
The Commerce Ministry has called the bill 'totally discriminatory' and said that it has been done keeping in view India as well as some nations.
It has been estimated that the visa row will bring about a hamper the Indian IT and BPO market. The ministry said that at any cost India's interests will be safeguarded.
The visa fee has been hiked by $2,000 and the most affected companies will be Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys Technologies, Wipro and Mahindra Satyam.
India has said that it looking for options to corner US and that it will be doing so with the help of WTO and China.
The officials also said that they are further studying the Act as well.
