Christian Bale forced writers to re-do ‘Terminator Salvation’ script
London, May 12 : Christian Bale was so adamant to play the role of John Connor in `Terminator Salvation' that he forced its writers to re-do its script, to give him a bigger part in the latest instalment in the sci-fi franchise.
Originally, Bale was offered the lead role of Marcus Wright in the upcoming sequel, but the `Batman' star turned down the part, and claimed to only play Connor in the film.
The character, which was featured in all three previous Terminator movies, was only set for a brief appearance in the latest outing.
Thus, the writers were ordered to do up the script once again to give Bale a bigger role.
"A lot of the work was integrating (Connor) into scenes... and having that feel integral and sensible, as opposed to grafted on just because there was a star in the part," the daily Star quoted `Terminator Salvation' scriptwriter John Brancato as saying.
The new movie hits cinemas on May 21. (ANI)
