City Beautiful Gets The First Implant Centre

Dental Implant CentreHere's another milestone achieved by City Beautiful.

With an aim to strengthen the health care infrastructure in the city, the Chandigarh administration has opened an ultra-modern Dental Implant Centre at Government Polyclinic in Sector-45.

With this, the city has become the first centre to start such a facility in civil dental services.

The centre was inaugurated by General Dr. S. F. Rodrigues, Punjab Governor and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh.

The newly opened centre is wholly outfitted with the newest tools. It has two dental chairs. From now onwards, the people of the city will not be required to pay out massive sum of money in private organizations as they can get better services here at much subsidized rates. The Dental implant is extremely costly process costing thousands of rupees.

For a single implant, autonomous bodies or dental colleges charge Rs 15000 to Rs 35000. However, the newly opened centre provides the high quality facility at one-third price of (nearly Rs 6400).

Apart from this, the correction of root damage and cavity in the market costs nearly Rs 2000 but it is done at the centre for only Rs 200 to Rs 400.

Speaking at the launch, Dr RS Mann (In charge, Dental Implant Centre) said: "A definite step on the road to giving tertiary care in the field of dentistry, the centre brings the world's highly advanced know-how of replacement of missing teeth with a nickel titanium screw fixture, within the reach of the inhabitants of the city."
