Ryan Cleary, a teenager accused of being associated with LulzSec, appeared at the Westminster Magistrates' Court in London for an eight-minute hearing, where he confirmed his name and address to the judge.

The 19 year old was arrested in his house in Wickford, Essex on Tuesday by police and FBI agents and was remanded to a nearby police station for a maximum three days. His family members say he used to spend most of his time on the computer and rarely went out of his room. He was arrested after a week of intelligence gathering by the investigators.

District Judge Quentin Purdy said, "This will also allow time to clarify precisely what it is you are accused of doing. There may be additional charges. I know not."

Cleary is facing five charges under the Criminal Law and Computer Misuse Acts. He is accused of targeting SOCA, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry and the British Phonographic Industry. He is also accused of planning to create a "Botnet" as well as supplying one botnet.

LulzSec has said that he was operating an Internet Relay Chat (IRC) server used by the group but was not a part of the group. "Ryan Cleary is not part of LulzSec; we house one of our many legitimate chatrooms on his IRC server, but that's it," LulzSec said on Twitter on Tuesday. The group also described his arrest as ‘lame’ as he was only mildly associated with it.

LulzSec has claimed responsibility for hacks on U. S. Senate, the U. S. Central Intelligence Agency and companies such as Sony and the U. S. Public Broadcasting Service.
