Clouds prevail in Chandigarh, neighbouring states Chandigarh, Nov 30 : Clouds prevailed in Chandigarh and its neighbouring states of Punjab and Haryana Monday, lowering the temperature further in the region.

"Clouds are there in most parts of the region. We are expecting them to remain there for a few more days and there is also a possibility of drizzle in some parts of Punjab," Chandigarh meteorological centre director Chatar Singh Malik told IANS.

"We are also expecting both day and night temperatures to fall by 3-4 degrees Celsius in the coming days. The weather is quite stable in this region and there is a clear sign of foggy mornings and evenings in the days ahead," he added.

Minimum temperature in Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, was recorded at 8.8 degrees Celsius Monday.

The holy city of Amritsar in Punjab was the coldest in the region, with minimum temperature of 4 degrees Celsius. Temperatures at Ludhiana and Patiala cities were recorded at 7.7 and 7.6 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Ambala city in Haryana recorded 7.7 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperatures at Hisar and Karnal cities were 9.3 and 7.8 degrees Celsius, respectively.(IANS)
