Commuters of Bangalore witness the moving streak of steel
Metro rail has entered Bangalore. On Sunday, Metro began its trails from Byappanahalli Station at 4.03 pm towards Mahatma Gandhi Station, MG Road, shoppers. Everybody was excited to watch this trial.
Commuters including children were popping their head out of their balconies, buses to view the site. Near Cauvery Emporium Junction, crowd cheered as the train approached.
The trial runs of metro will began from January 24 suggested by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL).
BMRCL announced that trial runs would continue as scheduled even if it remains uninspected by Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa and Union urban development minister Kamal Nath. They were busy due to recent political gridlock in the state so N Sivasailam the managing director of BMRCL, have decided to inspect the tracks himself before the run.
The families of government officials and its employees were taken for the trail run on Sunday. Around 250 people become part of the historical event.
The train moved at a speed of 25 Km per hour through Old Madras Road and received a cheerful crowd.
Cameramen and TV crew were waiting at MG Road station to capture this historic event. The journey was smooth as expected but when the metro train stopped at Ulsoor station for more than half an hour due to a glitch, it had put all the officials in worry but soon it was solved.
Namma Metro is a standard gauge, whose coached are little less than the coaches in Delhi Metro because they are broad gauge. The ride was world-class and by this successful take-off, BMRC is now looking forward to continue with trial runs more \frequently without many hassles.
