Telestra upgrades to TBB EthernetTelstra recently claimed of revising of its earlier used Business DSL service and will upgrade to Telstra Business Broadband (TBB) Ethernet. According to the Australian telecommunications and Media Company: Telstra which aims of providing a better service which could drive the complementary services offered by the company like the, IP telephony and video conferencing and the current soaring cloud-based software and backup and recovery services, states Tim Lohman from Computerworld Australia.

Telstra completes issue of Euro 1 billion bonds

TelstraTelstra Corp. has said that it has completed the issuing of ten-year bonds, amounting to EUR 1.0 billion.

BNP Paribas, JP Morgan and Deutsche Bank acted as the lead managers of the issue.

The annual coupon rate is 4.25 per cent and the bonds will mature on March 23 2020, the telecommunications giant informed.

The company has also mentioned that after maturity the issue will be fully swapped in terms of Australian dollars.

Besides this, Telstra also said that the deal was oversubscribed six times and close to 300 orders were placed.


Debate on Telstra delayed as Communication Ministry assures it to happen

Telstra-LogoToday, the debate on the reform package for Telstra was scheduled to take place. But it did not happen since there has been no inclusion of the same in the Order of Business of the chamber.

This is not the first time that a debate has been postponed. It had happened earlier as well. But, says a statement from the Communication Ministry that the government is willing to debate on the issue, during sometime this week itself.

Meanwhile, there are growing concerns that the government is trying to shift the reform till May and that is why nothing proper has been done till now.


Telstra increases data allowance

In January Telstra had announced changes in its post paid plans. The entry level data allowance had been doubled at that time, to 29.95 dollars for 400 MB.

Now, Telstra has announced its revised rates for its pre paid wireless broadband offerings. The new rates would be effective from tomorrow. The customers would be getting up to 3 times more data without paying a penny more.

Telestra had been charging a premium from its customers previously as it had been providing better services with a wider network coverage. Now it has made its premium amount smaller and most analysts believe that it is a justifiable one now.

Mike Wright the executive director of Telestra wireless said, "Dual carrier is a technique where one combines two conventional HSPA+ channels simultaneously to double the peak speed on a data modem."
