In the year 2008, two cranes collapsed in Upper East Side of New York. After the investigation it was discovered that cranes were not properly repaired after the machine got struck by lightning.
However the punishment can't bring the two workers back to life but it is the right decision to attract the attention on the safety of the workers who risk their lives just to earn their livelihood.
According to the reports published in Daily news, the Crane and Equipment Corporation had sent its giant tower cranes to some Chinese company for repair.
After the crane collision mishap, the training level of the crane inspectors has been on an inclined note. New safety guidelines and standards are also on the move for them. After the charges faced by the owner of the company, Michael Carbone, the city inspector who approved the cranes, has also resigned.
