EE reduces its 4G tariff prices; increases data allowancesIn a move which apparently comes in the wake of consumer complaints about EE's high prices and fairly low data allowance for its high-speed 4G network, the mobile network operator has recently announced a revision of its mobile phone tariff prices, and has also increased its data allowances.

Announcing its new special promotional data plans, EE - which is currently the only LTE provider in the UK - said that it is reducing the monthly tariff for its basic 4G service from £36 to £31.

The revised 4G entry-level monthly tariff offer will come with a 2-year service contract - or £41 per month for a one-year contract - and will include unlimited calls and texts, as well as a 500MB monthly data allowance. The special price plan will also cost £46 for a one-year SIM-only agreement or £61 for a 2-year agreement, including a latest 4G handset.

Revealing that the new tariff prices are introductory, and will be available during the period from between January 31 and March 31, EE said that the customers will also be able to select from an array of 4G compatible mobile handsets for a one-off discounted cost.

About EE's new special promotional data plans, the mobile operator's Chief Marketing Officer Pippa Dunn said that the company is aiming at offering consumers "the most comprehensive range of 4GEE price plans," and added: "With these new options we're looking to not only make 4G smartphones even more accessible, but offer even greater value for the small number of super-users out there."
