Emotional Intelligence Is A Sex Booster – A Study
A new study has suggested intelligent women have more fun in bed as compared with those having lower intelligence level.
The researchers come to their solution after conducting a study on 2,035 female twins.
The results showed that those with greater emotional intelligence had more and better orgasms.
Their study results appeared in The Journal of Sexual Medicine.
All of the 2,035 study partakers were asked to fill up questionnaires regarding details of their sexual conduct and performance.
They were also asked to answer questions designed to check their emotional intelligence.
Emotional intelligence (EI) is the capacity to monitor and manage sentiments and passions in oneself and others.
The study found an important connection between EI and the rate of orgasm during masturbation and sexual intercourse.
Professor Tim Spector, director of the Twin Research Department at King's College London and co-author of the study, said, "These findings show that emotional intelligence is an advantage in many aspects of your life including the bedroom."
"This study will help enormously in the development of behavioural and cognitive therapies to improve women's sexual lives," Prof Tim added.
The study also said that every third women find it hard or impossible to reach a climax during intercourse.
Study's lead author Andrea Burri said, "Emotional intelligence seems to have a direct impact on women's sexual functioning by influencing her ability to communicate her sexual expectations and desires to her partner."
Burri added that there was also a relation with a woman's capacity to fantasize during sex or her feeling of control over the act.
Paula Hall, a sexual psychotherapist for Relate, said, "Emotional intelligence is most important in terms of overcoming problems.
"Most women, and men for that matter, will have this problem at some stage in their life. It's often situational - you are tired or stressed or having relationship problems."
