An engineering student named Prathibha, 19, died of dengue on Friday morning while undergoing treatment at the Apollo Hospital in Mysore.
Confirming the development, Dr HS Manjunath, District Malaria Officer said that Prathibha had tested positive for dengue.
Initially, the victim was admitted in Kamakshi Hospital on August 29 last month.
However, on September 2, she was shifted to Apollo Hospital.
Prathibha had suffered from multiple organ failure and cardiac arrest.
It is learnt that she had lost consciousness a day before she died.
Meanwhile, the people of Mysore protested against the corporation authorities for not taking precautionary measures in the face of the occurrence of dengue-like diseases in the city.
Notably, this is the third case where dengue has claimed life in the city. Earlier, it has claimed the lives of Sowmya (13) and Neelu (14) from the same city.
