England registers a historic winThe five wickets haul by the all rounder Andrew Flintoff has led England to register a historic win by 115 runs against Australia in the second test match of the Ashes test series at the Lords on Monday.
England has to wait for 75 years for their first ever Ashes win at the historic ground of Lords, also known as the home of cricket.
Chasing a mammoth target of 521 runs, Australia resumed their inning from the overnight score of 313 runs for the loss of 5 wickets with M Clarke and B Haddin on the crease.
Haddin (80) was the first batsman to return to the pavilion without even adding a single run in the total of the team, at the team score of 313.
Clarke batted brilliantly but he was bowled by G Swan on the individual score of 136 runs, and Australia bundled out on the score of 406.
G Swann took four wickets, while Flintoff was adjudged the man of the match for his brilliant performance with bat and ball.
