EPSRC will be in India soon

EPSRCEngineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) of United Kingdom is planning to collaborate with Indian Universities to do more research in applied and pure sciences.

In an interview with media, Vivienne Blackstone who is manager of EPSRC mathematical science said that they are eagerly waiting to do something new with Indian universities in the next couple of years after the government of India finalizes the budget. Dr. Blackstone is presently representing some European universities in International congress of Mathematicians.

In a discussion, Dr. Mora, EPSRC portfolio manager has said that their representatives are now exploring links with Indian institutions and they are in a way to develop career statistics of students pursuing studies in pure sciences like mathematics.

She has also added that students preferring computer related fields like software subjects are not getting right kind of prospects of pure science.

Members of EPSRC has explained that they will promote the futures for careers in pure science fields with the help of universities like physics, chemistry, nano technology, energy and ICT. Dr. Blackstone hopes that EPSRC will get great response for the initiatives they are taking to develop pure science sector.
