ETA attack targets construction of high-speed train in Spain

Madrid  - The militant Basque separatist group ETA has targeted the construction of a high-speed railway linking three Basque cities, Spanish media reported Tuesday.

Two bombs damaged excavators belonging to a company which participates in the construction of the railway. The attack, which occurred in the town of Hernani on Monday, caused no injuries.

An anonymous caller said ETA claimed responsibility for the bombing.

The high-speed train AVE is due to link Bilbao, San Sebastian and Vitoria by 2015. (dpa)
