Etisalat DB and Reliance sign pact

Reliance CommunicationsEtisalat DB Telecom, a joint venture between the UAE's etisalat and India's Dynamix Balwas Group, has announced that it has inked Rs100 billion (Dh7.5bn) infrastructure sharing pact with Reliance Communications as it prepares to launch telecom services in India.

The sources said that Etisalat DB and its arm will outsource their telecom infrastructure requirements for the 15 telecom circles, encompassing end-to-end tower and transmission infrastructure to Reliance Infratel and Reliance Communications, respectively.

Etisalat authorities said that this partnership will offer the company key, strategic advantages in this dynamic market that will ensure a robust, speedy and cost-effective roll-out of services.

According to sources, the agreement with Reliance Communications Group is the first and the largest telecom infrastructure sharing entailing towers and transmission agreement of its kind in the Indian telecom landscape.

As per reports of media, Etisalat DB and its arm have the Unified Services Access Licence in 15 circles in India.
