Exercise Four Days A Week To Relieve Chronic Backache!A new research conducted by researchers at the University of Alberta revealed that exercising more is an effectual way to relieve chronic backache.

The researchers of the study analyzed 240 men and women suffering from chronic lower-back pain.

They discovered that the partakers those who exercised four days a week suffered 28% less pain, 36% less disability and 28% better quality of life as compared to those who hit the gym only twice or thrice weekly.

According to reports, approximately 80% of North Americans suffer from lower back pain.

Lead researcher Robert Kell, professor of exercise physiology at the U-A said, “While it could be assumed that someone with back pain should not exercise frequently, our findings show that working with weights four days a week provides the greatest amount of pain relief.”

During the 16-weeks study, groups of 60 men and women with chronically sore lower backs worked out with weights in two, three or four-day weekly programmes.

A few of the participants did not exercise at all.

The pain level of the participants diminished by 28% in programmes, which consisted exercise four days in a week, by 18% three days per week and by 14% two days a week.

Their quality of life increased by 28%, 22% and 16%, respectively.

Prof Kell presented the study findings at the American College of Sports Medicine conference in Seattle, Washington.
