The company must aggressive reach out to mobile phone users around the world and offer an advertising platform to generate more mobile Internet revenues.

Forrester analyst Thomas Husson said that the mobile advertising market is still young and it is to be seen how Facebook can utilize its hundreds of millions of users to generate more income. He pointed out that it is understandable that the company has been focusing on online advertising as it generates more revenues from the segment.

However, the social network that is expected to reach the mammoth milestone of a billion users will have to look at all platforms for growth. Experts say that Facebook has successfully attracted users to the site through mobile Internet but has not capitalized on the opportunity enough to generate additional revenues.

The company is fast attracting new users in large-population areas like Brazil and India where increasing number of people are adopting mobile platforms.

Facebook is now going into an IPO and is planning to raise upto $ 5 billion. The company must now seriously look at mobile advertising and sub areas like about Credits and mobile payments to improve revenues.
