Tiger Woods has taken too long to publicly apologize for his extra-marital affairs, feels famous publicist Max Clifford.

Appearing on select shows like Oprah Winfrey, the PR adviser insisted, could have limited the damage.

The Telegraph quoted him as saying," If it can be avoided you make sure the story doesn''t come out but if you know the story is going to come out you try to control it."

He added: "He should have gone on TV earlier so everybody can see and hear what he had to say. If you come across as genuinely remorseful and you show that you at least have the balls to stand up and take it on the chin people will move on."

Following a car crash outside his Florida home, Woods sexcapades were exposed last year.
