Figo takes Ford India on a new high
The hatchback from the Ford's table is performing the expected trick in the Indian market for the Detroit-based auto giant. In fact, Ford India sales for the month of March have shown growth of more than 300% on a YoY basis, rising 203% over the previous month.
With more than 10,000 booking already in the pocket, Figo is set to chart a new success story for Ford in the Indian market.
Experts believe the rising consumer sentiment and the aggressive pricing of the vehicle have resulted in the impeccable success of Figo in the Indian market.
Anticipating a huge demand even forward, the company is planning to start the second production shift at its Chennai plant very soon.
Michael Boneham, president and managing director of Ford India explained the fact that the company is very much delighted from the success that Figo has achieved in the Indian market and the company is very much well in position to touch new milestones going forward.
Under its One Ford approach, Figo is only one of the products that Ford is planning to launch globally in the year 2010 and the company is all set to thrive in the global marketplace as well.
