Officials have said that two more bodies were pulled from the debris of a collapsed five-story building in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on Wednesday, bringing the death toll to 22.
Bdnews24. com has reported that the building toppled onto tin-shed shanties about 10:45 p. m. Tuesday. The online newspaper also said that twenty-one people had been rescued but others were still missing.
Dhaka Deputy Commissioner Muhibul Haque told bdnews24. com, that the building has fallen off its foundation much like an uprooted tree, smashing at least four three-story shanties. Snapped electrical lines and leaking gas pipes were hampering the rescue effort.
An investigation would be conducted into the reasons for the collapse, he further said. (With Inputs from Agencies)
