Despite best efforts of government new swine flu cases are being diagnosed everyday. The number of swine flu cases has reached 4,885 including 147 fresh cases. The death toll due to swine flu has reached 135 with the four recent deaths on Monday.

Out the recent four deaths from swine flu, two were reported in Goa while one death each was reported in Delhi and Karnataka. 69-year-old Durga Prasad Sharma died due to the swine flu in New Delhi on Monday afternoon.
 
Delhi has the second highest number of swine flu cases in the country. After detection of swine flu cases among students, three public schools were closed for sometime. Some private schools are also closed for short while. The number of swine flu cases has reached 843 including the 34 fresh cases.

32 fresh cases swine flu have been detected in Maharashtra taking the total number of people affected with the virus to 1,855. Maharashtra has the maximum deaths and cases of swine flu.  

Recently, 20 weeks pregnant woman succumbed to swine flu in Bangalore. The number of swine flu cases in Karnataka has reached 579 including 15 fresh cases.
