According to the health officials the total count of swine flu cases went up to 279 including deaths of four more persons. It was reported that during last three days three persons died of swine flu in city hospitals.

If we talk about deaths in the city due to swine flu the toll is 68 since April this year. In spite of taking preventive measures by the authorities swine flu is spreading at a greater speed.

Hospital sources revealed that one of the three persons died of swine flu in different hospitals one is a six month pregnant lady.

It was last year on 3 August when Pune has witnessed its first victim of swine flu. Pune civic and state health ministry has strengthened its screening with the rising number of cases of swine flu due to monsoon and also started various awareness campaigns in schools and colleges.

Health department sources also said that Maharashtra government has still not intimate public on the desirability of various swine flu vaccines available in the market.
