Palencia, Spain - Gas poisoning from a faulty heater killed four members of the same family Monday in the northern Spanish city of Palencia, police said.

The victims included a 20-month-old baby, its parents and grandmother. The baby's 20-year-old half-brother was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

The heater apparently did not burn up the gas properly, releasing carbon monoxide into the house, police said. (dpa)
