Orphan urchin boy acting in a Tamil movie

Chennai, Oct. 31 : For the first time in Indian cinema, a real life urchin will be seen on the big screen playing a major role in a Tamil movie on beggary and child exploitation here.

Directed by eminent film director Vinayan, the film ‘Naallai Nammathe’ meaning tomorrow belongs to us, is aimed to create awareness about the life, which the beggars and pavement dwellers have to live. It also highlights how mafia goons have a say in beggary and exploitation of families.

Film producer Jose Maveli spotted the nine-year-old Babu who was roaming and begging on the streets of Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh). He was facing starvation and homelessness at that time. The boy was admitted to a hospital by a Kerala-based NGO.

Canada based Meera makes musical debut with `My Ranjha''

New Delhi, Oct. 31 : Meera, the Canada-based businesswoman of Indian origin, recently launched her debut Punjabi music album `My Ranjha''.

For Meera, her debut album is a celebration of her feelings and value for the vibrant Punjab. The singer, on the release function in New Delhi recently said that she shared a special bond with Punjab and was on a promotional tour to India recently.

Meera''s `My Ranjha'' is a fusion of earthy Punjabi lyrics with new age music.

Born and brought up in Jalandhar, Meera started singing at a very young age. She said that her first teacher happened to be her mother, who was also a trained singer.

Gordon Ramsay accuses Becks of boosting “Goldenballs” with oranges for ad

London, Oct 31 : Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has accused soccer ace David Beckham of enhancing his “Goldenballs” with oranges for his Armani ad.

The 41-year-old chef was mocking pal Becks over his famous Armani pants adverts, reports the Daily star.

In an interview to GQ magazine, Gordon asked Becks “Did you put satsumas down your pants for the Armani adverts?”

Becks replied: “Gordon should know. He’s one of my best friends, so he should know the truth.

“He knows it wasn’t retouched. I would never ask them to change anything,” he added.

“I’ve never done pictures in my underwear before. It was a question of trying to find a good position that wasn’t too much.
