Ranchi, Jan 19 : The Union Cabinet today approved President's rule in Jharkhand.
A Jharkhand assembly has also decided that the cabinet will remain in a suspended animation.
The meeting was held here this morning to consider Jharkhand Governor Syed Sibtey Razi's recommendation to impose President rule in the State after a consensus on appointing a new Chief Minister of ruling Jharkand Murli Morcha (JMM)-led coalition could not be reached.
No other political organization showed interest in forming an alternate Government in the state.

Islamabad, Jan 19: The banned terror outfit, Laskhar-e-Tayyaba (LeT), has announced that it would support a peaceful and democratic struggle to liberate Kashmir.
In a statement issued in Srinagar, LeT spokesman Dr Abdullah Gaznavi said his group took up arms when the world did not respond to the Kashmiris' peaceful struggle for more than four decades, the Daily Times reported.
London, January 19 : British artist and children''s TV presenter Tony Hart following prolonged illness, aged 83.
He appeared on art programmes for nearly 50 years, and inspired generations of children to paint and draw, before retiring in 2001 because of health problems.
Hart's family said that the Surrey-based artist - most famous for fronting children''s shows including Vision On, Take Hart, and Hart Beat - died peacefully in the early hours after suffering from health problems for a number of years.
