Washington, September 29 : Ancient Greek texts like “The Iliad” and “The Odyssey” are revealing new secrets about the ancient world, the most prominent being the discovery of a site that might be the city of Troy.

It is heart wrenching to know that our environment is constantly getting more and more polluted due to harmful emission of gases like carbon dioxide. Recently, it was reported by the Global Carbon Project that the worldwide emissions of carbon dioxide, due to the burning of fuel and production of cement, has gone up by 3.5% per year from 2000 to 2007. This is nearly four times more than the growth rate in the 1990s.
It was further informed by the Canberra, Australia-based Global Carbon Project, “Carbon released from burning fossil fuels, producing cement and changing land use produced 9.94 billion metric tons of carbon compared with 9.7 billion tons in 2006.”
