The defending champions Germany has clearly shown better peformance in hockey, as the team crushed the New Zealand team to enter the Semi-Finals of the much-hyped FIH World Cup.
After suffering from a draw against Holland, German team's aggressive stature clearly displayed the belief of a win to seal a position in the top four in the tournament. A goal by Cristoph Menke opened the flood doors for the kiwis and the team lost to the Germans by 5-2 in a crucial encounter.
While the Germans ruled the first half, the second half was once killing for them as the Kiwis came all guns blazing with nothing to lose. However, the aggressiveness didn't reap that rich fruits as expected as for the New Zealand team.
However, the Captain of the defending champions, Maximillan Muller admitted after the match that the encounter was a little too close for his liking and even after his team won, he admitted that they were put under pressure. Maximillan further added the fact that the team will examine and improve in the mistakes they made against the Kiwis.
