Goa Government covering up the case: Scarlett's mom

Panaji, Mar 18 : Fiona MaceownFiona Mackeown, the mother of murdered 15-year-old British Scarlett Keeling, on Tuesday blamed the Goa Home Ministry for covering up her daughter's case.

She said the Ministry is also attempting to save the accused in her daughter's murder.

Mackeown said she suspect some foul play in the case and further accused the Goa Home Ministry that they are forcing her to leave the country and not to pursue Scarlett's case as murder."

Mackeown's accusation came just a short while after Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat briefed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh about the incident.

Kamat had said that the State is the "safest" destination for tourists.

"I appeal to all tourists coming to Goa that it is the safest place and Goans are nice people," he said after meeting the Prime Minister. (ANI)
