Google marks Jagjit Singh's 72nd birthday with DoodleInternet giant, Google is marking the 72nd birthday of Indian singer, Jagjit Singh, who passed away in 2011, with a doodle on its flagship search home page.

The doodle shows a picture of Jagjit Singh with his harmonium on the home page. The ghazal singer continues to remain popular among the audiences in the country and he topped the list of most searched ghazal singers online.

Jagjit Singh was born Jagmohan Singh in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan on February 8, 1941 and his father encouraged his singing talent and recommended shifting to Mumbai, then Bombay. He met Chitra Dutta in Mumbai and they got married in 1969 after she went through a diverse.

At the age of Mohammad Rafi, Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar, Jagjit Singh added a new variety to the Indian music and movie industry in general. He gained the title of "Ghazal King" and he remained a hit across generations in India and beyond.

He is also known for singing many songs for Indian movies including Arth, Saath Saath, Bahuroopi, Avishkaar, Griha Pravesh, Ek Baar Kaho and many others. He passed away on October 10, 2011.
