Google marks Mark Twain's birth anniversary with a new doodle
Internet giant, Google is marking the 176th birth anniversary of American author and humorist Mark Twain with a new doodle on its home page.
The doodle is released ont eh flagship sear engine homepage and shows the scene from The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, which is his most famous novel. It shows protagonist, Tom Sawyer whitewashing a fence with his friend Ben as he is being punished for making his cloths dirty in a flight with a boy from St Louis.
Mark Twain was born on November 30, 1835 as Samuel Langhorne Clemens in the town of Florida, Missouri. He is known for his wit and satire and is one of the most noted figures in American literature. His popular works include The Adventures of Tom Sawyer in 1876 and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn in 1885.
The new doodle is visible to users from across the world. When a user clicks on the doodle it shows the search engine answer page with pages with information about Mark Twain, with 'Mark Twain' as the keyword.
Google has revealed its first doodle in 1998 and since them the Google team has designed more than 300 doodles for its US website and another 700 worldwide to mark various occasions.
