“Green Fridge” Being Designed By The Scientists

Albert Einstein had always dreamt of a fridge that would be environmentally friendly, “Green Fridge” Being Designed By The Scientists and now the scientist are all geared up to make his dream come true, as they have resumed work to create a “Green fridge”. It is well known that maximum damage to the environment is caused by the refrigeration equipment.

The project undertaken by electrical engineer Malcolm McCulloch, is likely to take three years. During the early 1930, Einstein had first come up with kind of a prototype. Back then, pressurized gases were used to keep the things cool. But due to damage being caused to the environment with this technology, it was dropped and more advanced technology of compressors was adopted.

The modern day fridges cause maximum damage to the environment as they produce freons. The “green fridge” however involves ammonia, butane and water.

Malcolm McCulloch reported, “It uses the principle of liquids reaching their boiling points much earlier at lower pressure when compared to normal atmospheric pressure. There is the requirement of a heat pump in this device. We are trying to develop a solar heat pump for this purpose.”
