A new research stated that regular consumption of green leafy veggies can cut one's chances of having Type 2 diabetes by 14%.
Green leafy vegetables like broccoli, spinach, sprouts and cabbage have higher amounts of anti-oxidants and magnesium that help in cutting down the risk of diabetes.
The research also showed that regularly sampling salads, which consists of spinach, could help lessen the risk of Type-2 diabetes.
Researchers from the University of Leicester made assessment of six researches that are based on 223,000 individuals and made comparisons of consumption of green leafy veggies.
They discovered that those who had over one serving on a daily basis had a lower diabetes risk as compared to individuals who hardly ate any.
The study authors said that diets rich in veggies and fruit are helpful in cutting the risk of cancer as well as heart disease, but the association between fruit and vegetable ingestion and diabetes was unclear.
