Guj to buy 50 ventilators for H1N1 patients, toll crosses 100

GujaratIn a major move, the government of Gujarat has decided to buy 50 ventilator machines to be installed at government hospitals in small towns for the critically ill H1N1 patients.

Moreover, the state government has also decided to build Intensive Care Units (ICUs) in government hospitals in small towns which do not have adequate critical care facilities.

At present, most of the large government hospitals in Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara and Ahmedabad have ICU facilities.

Meanwhile, the total number of affected persons in the state crossed to 100-mark on Tuesday.

Out of the total 105, Ahmedabad, the state capital recorded the maximum of 67, followed by Vadodara with a total of nine positive cases. 81 people have already been cured and discharged so far in the state.

According to the officials of Gujarat's health department, there is nothing to worry about as of all the state's suspected H1N1 cases, only 12.59% have tested positive. However, the officials have asked the populace to remain cautious of teh deadly virus.
