H1N1: Mentally challenged woman dies in Ahmedabad, death toll rises to 36 in Gujarat

GujaratGujarat has recorded its 36th human swine flu-related death.

It is learnt that the victim, a 24-year-old mentally challenged woman named Nisha Deepakbhai, admitted to VS Hospital died of the deadly virus in Ahmedabad on Friday.

Nisha was a resident of Paldi.

Confirming the development, a state health official said: “Nisha, who tested positive for the H1N1 virus, died at the Vadilal Sarabhai hospital on Friday.”

The official added that Nisha was struggling with pneumonia.

The patient was administered Tamiflu on admission to the hospital.

With Nisha’s death, the death toll in Ahmedabad has reached to 6.

Apart from this, one more person tested positive for H1N1 virus in Surat, raising the number of positive cases in the state to 214.
