In a new survey, about half of the people in Scotland said that they cannot live without their televisions compared to just 14 per cent who voiced similar opinions about a mobile phone or internet connection.
According to Ofcom's annual Media Literacy report, ids in Scotland are more like to watch TVs in their bedroom than children in other parts of the UK. Ofcom presented its study in a way to differentiate between the different habits of people each of the four UK nations.
People in Northern Ireland are most likely to use a smartphone at 82% compared to a UK average of 78%. About 77% respondents in Wales tune in to the radio compared to 69% across the UK, according to the survey.
The survey also showed that about 74 per cent of those above the age of 16 have broadband in the home, whilst 76 per cent said they have some form of internet access.
