Hamilton tops final German GP practice
Nuerburg, Germany - World champion Lewis Hamilton topped the final practice session for the German Formula One Grand Prix on Saturday.
Hamilton clocked 1 minute 31.121 seconds in a McLaren-Mercedes for the 5.148-kilometres lap.
Ex-champion Fernando Alonso had 1:31.340 in a Renault and Ferrari driver Felipe Massa was third in 1:31.351 minutes. Championship leader Jenson Button of Brawn GP was 11th in 1:32.009 minutes.
Qualifying was scheduled for later Saturday and the 60-lap race is on Sunday.
Button leads the championship standings with 64 points from teammate Rubens Barrichello (41) and German Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel (39) after eight of 17 season races.(dpa)
