Haryana Govt Hospitals To Introduce ‘Surgery Package Programme’ On July 1With the intention to avoid harassment of patients by attendants, the Haryana government is all set to introduce a ‘Surgery Package Programme’ in government civil hospitals.

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda would launch the new programme of surgery package on July 1.

Under the scheme, the patients preferring for being operated in government civil hospitals of Haryana, would have to pay nominal charges for the package as compared to private hospitals.

After charging the amount for surgery from the patient, the hospital administration is responsible for providing medicines, equipments to patient.

All medical examinations, comprising ECG, MRI and other lab tests, will also be carried out under the plan, and the patient or his/her attendant will not be asked for anything.

Each operating surgeon would be provided with a revolving imprest of Rs 10,000 to avoid any financial crunch in case of any emergency.

Mr. V K Bansal, Government Hospital-6 Medical Superintendent said, “In case, some medicine is unavailable in the hospital, it would be the sole responsibility of the doctor concerned to arrange it; the patients would not be asked to fetch the medicine.”

The hospital will also stock medical equipment and medicines beforehand.

Moreover, the families below poverty line (BPL) and inhabitants of urban slums would be entitled to free surgeries and no any fees would be charged from them.

To avail this benefit, BPL families have to submit copy of their BPL card whilst the residents of urban slums would have to give copy of their ration card as evidence of their residence.
