Heath Ledger''s last film to release in US

Heath LedgerLondon, Aug 14 : Heath Ledger''s final film `The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus' could soon hit US theatres, as Hollywood bosses are said to be in advanced talks with a distributor to reel out the movie across America.

Executives in charge of the picture have been searching for a backers in the US for almost a year, but were finding it difficult to convince a company to release the experimental movie.

The film shows late actor Ledger, who died of an accidental drug overdose last year, portraying the role of a travelling magician.

But stars like Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell, and Jude Law stood in for the Aussie actor after he died mid-way through filming.

Bosses have been in talks with Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group, who are expected to sign a deal to distribute the film in the U. S. later this year, according to Variety.

The film has already finalised deals with distributors in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Australia for later in 2009. (ANI)
