Homeserve to cut 300 jobs in the UKHome insurance and repairs group, HomeServe has said that it is planning to cut about 300 jobs in the UK as it faces a fall in the number of customers in the country.

The company said that its customers are expected to fall from 2.25 million to 1.9 million by March, 2014 in the UK. The company is under investigation by the Financial Services Authority for miss-selling contracts earlier in the UK. The company has relaxed its sales terms but has not been able to maintain the number of customers.

The company expects the UK business to contribute£35 million less than expected during the next financial year. The company has said that it has 2.25 million British customers during the current financial year but the numbers will fall as a result of the roll back of the marketing campaign due to the on-going investigation by the regulator, which was launched in May.

The company had earlier announced that it will axe 300 call centre job in the country. The new cutting will be above the earlier 300 job cuts. The new plans will affect the company's employees at its operations in Bambury, Preston and Walsall.
