Honda decides to shut down production of Honda FR-V

Honda decides to shut down production of Honda FR-VSeeing trend for downsizing and the declining MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) market, Honda has decided to stop the production of its six-seater compact MPV, Honda FR-V (Honda Edix in Japan). Honda has declared that the production of 3+3 seater Honda FR-V minivan will be ceased with the last one rolling out from its production line at the Suzuka plant in Japan in August.

Honda FR-V, featuring two rows of 3+3 seats for seating 6 persons, was rolled out by Honda in 2004. Honda FR-V allows folding down the middle seat to create a tray or arm rest. The compact MPV offers around 32 different seating combinations, three ISOFIX points and lots of cabin and load space.

Honda has clarified that Honda FR-V will not have any replacement, and it will concentrate on other models, such as the Jazz and Insight, which are capable of satisfying the family car market. However, Honda FR-V will continue on sale. Honda FR-V is available with three gasoline and one Honda diesel-powered engines —
