Hot chillies can prevent diabetes and cardiovascular disease

Hot chillies can prevent diabetes and cardiovascular diseaseThe number of people suffering from diabetes and cardiovascular diseases is increasing day by day. Cardiovascular disease takes millions of lives each year around the world. Recent study has offered a hope of treatment of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Recent study by University of Tasmania School of Human Life Sciences research fellow Kiran Ahuja revealed that hot chillies have capability of fighting diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Research team is presently studying the biological activity of two active ingredients of chillies, capsaicin and dihydrocapsaicin.

The study has so far revealed that the capsaicinoid chemicals present in the chillies have the capability to reduce the formation of fatty deposits on artery walls and preventing blood clots along with ability to lower blood glucose and insulin levels.

Research team also found that these components of chilli are free from some of the bad side-effects of traditional medications used to cure these aliments.

Kiran Ahuja said it was possible that one day chillies would replace aspirin, or be combined with aspirin as a medication for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease.
