Hyundai Motors India awarded for its CSR activitiesIn an award function that happened recently, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), the country's second largest car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter has been awarded the Best Corporate Social Responsibility award for 2009-10.

While the award was given by the government of Tamil Nadu, it is to be mentioned here that the company won this award under the category of Best Commercial and Industrial Institution. At an award function that took place in Chennai, R. Sethuraman and Mr. T. M. Kumar, Trustees of the Hyundai Motor India Foundation, received the award from Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Shri. M. K Stalin.

Hyundai motors India carries its CSR activities via its philanthropic arm Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF). The company was also rewarded with a cash award of Rs. 5 lakh. H. W. Park, MD and CEO, HMIL, said, that the award has boosted the spirit of the company and it will continue to give it back to society.

Moreover, Park also mentioned the fact that the company has been involved with communities around Sriperumbedur but it will now look forward to expanding its CSR footprint to other areas as well.
