London, Dec 20 : Dr Conrad Murray, who was Michael Jackson’s personal physician, has broken his silence from the pulpit of his local church.
The 55-year-old heart specialist, who allegedly gave Jackson the drugs that induced his death, is at the centre of an investigation.
“I, with my compassion, was only trying to help my fellow man. But it appears I was at the wrong place at the wrong time,” the Daily Star quoted him as telling the worshippers.
“I’m taking my life back, step by step and I want to come home. I am back to serve. It isn’t easy for me. Mentally, it’s tough.
“I have been reduced to the lowest level of income I have ever known,” he added.
Murray resumed his practice this month at the Armstrong Clinic in Houston, Texas.
The West Indian-born cardiologist drew cheers from the congregation at the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in north west Houston, when he declared: “I want to come back home.”
Local TV station KPRC claimed Murray made a swift exit from the church with a ‘foreign documentary crew’ after his brief address. (ANI)
