India’s Swine Flu Death Toll Reaches 465

India DeathH1N1 virus turned more deadly on Friday as two more persons lost their lives due to swine flu, taking the death toll of India so far to 465.

Out of the two deaths, one fatality was reported from Maharashtra, while other casualty was from Andhra Pradesh.

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who recently visited Moscow, has been tested positive for the deadly H1N1 flu on Friday. He will be kept in isolation for seven days at his residence.

Maharashtra continued to top the list of states, which reported the maximum number of deaths in India since the first one was recorded on Aug 3.

Maharashtra has accounted for 197 Swine Flu deaths, followed by 117 in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh (49) and Gujarat (40).

According to the health officials, around 62 new Swine Flu cases were reported across India, taking the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 13,784.

Out of 63 cases, 21 Swine Flu cases were found in Kerala alone, accompanied by Karnataka (15), Maharashtra (12) and Tamil Nadu (7).
