Indian Women Cricket Team defeats England by 35 runs

Indian Women Cricket TeamIndian women cricket team, inspired by the World test no. 1 Indian men's cricket team, has defeated the world champion England by 35 runs in the first ODI at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Friday.

Indian skipper Jhulan Goswami won the toss and opted to bat first. India scored 199 runs for loss of five wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Priyanka Roy was top scorer for India who scored 69 runs while Mithali Raj contributed 62 runs with the bat.

Chasing the target of 200 runs, England was once looking in comfortable position with 100 runs on the board and seven wickets in their hand. But after that Indian bowlers bowled brilliantly and picked up their last six wickets for just
19 runs to wrap up the match.

England bundled out for 164 runs on the board in 45 overs. J Goswami and G Sultana took three wickets each while R Dhar chipped in with two wickets for just 23 runs. India is now leading the five ODI series by 1-0.
