India's Campaign At Wimbledon Mixed Doubles Ends  India's challenge to win a mixed doubles title at the ongoing Wimbledon collapsed in the second round with all the four contenders losing out of the event.

India's Sania Mirza, paired with doubles ace and compatriot Mahesh Bhupathi, lost to the Russian pair of Igor Andreev and Maria Kirilenko in the second round mixed doubles match at grasscourt grand slam. The unseeded Russian pair beat the Indian combine 7-6 (4), 6-3.  

Leander Paes and Australian Rennae Stubbs, seeded 10th, squandered three break points in the decider to go down 3-6, 6-3, 3-6 to Swede Jonas Bjorkman and Australian Alicia Molik.  

In the third match played between the Indo-Belarus pair of Rohan Bopanna and Tatiana Poutchek, the unseeded pair were defeated by the 13th seeded duo of Simon Aspelin of Sweden and Lisa Raymond of USA 3-6, 6-7 (1).  

In another disappointment for India, fifth seeded Yuki Bhambri lost to unseeded Ty D Trombetta of USA 6-7(2), 4-6 in boys' singles first round match.

The Indians failed to earn a single break point in the entire match while their opponents converted the only break point they achieved in the second set.  

India's chances in Wimbledon now rest upon Paes in men's doubles and Sania in women's doubles. Paes and Lukas Dlouhy of Czech Republic will take on Travis Parrott of the US and Filip Polasek of Slovakia. On the other hand, Sania and Bethanie Mattek, having entered the third round after a 6-3, 6-4 win over Kirilenko and Italian Flavia Pennetta, will take on Akgul Amanmuradova of Uzbekistan and Darya Kustova of Belarus.
