India's swine flu death toll rises to 262

IndiaWith the death of five more people across the country, the H1N1 death toll rose to 262 on Tuesday even as 324 4 fresh cases were reported from across the country.

Out of the five deaths, three were reported from Karnataka and one each from Maharashtra and New Delhi, country's national capital.

Informing the media persons, the health officials in New Delhi said that the laboratory confirmation (received on Tuesday) showed that all the three deaths in Karnataka were due to deadly H1N1 virus.

With these three deaths, Karnataka death toll had gone to 82.

The Indian capital, New Delhi also recorded a swine flu death on Tuesday.

A 20-year-old pregnant woman died of deadly virus in New Delhi on Tuesday morning.

She was admitted to Safdarjung hospital on September 18.

New Delhi has recorded its 9th human swine flu-related death.

With this, the death toll in New Delhi has reached to nine.

Apart from this, Maharashtra, which tops the list of H1N1 deaths in India, also reported one death.

The state has so far recoded 107 deaths.
