iPad suit threatened by Chinese tablet mavenA Chinese company dubbed Shenzhen Great Loong Brother has blamed Apple for copying designs of one of its devices. Wu Xiaolong, who is the president of Shenzhen Great Loong Brother expressed his anger and surprise when he saw the news of the iPad presentation by Apple two days ago. He claimed the design matched exactly like their P88.

But when the two devices are compared, there are not many similarities. In fact P88 is more like many previous Windows-based tablet PCs and also the proposed "slate" from HP that Microsoft's Steve Ballmer waved at a keynote crowd during last month's Consumer Electronics Show.

The only thing that both iPad and the P88 have in common is that they both are flat.

Let us now give a look at the differences of the two:-

While P88 runs on Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, or LinuxiPad, Apple's iPad runs on rejiggered iPhone OS. Where P88 boasts 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, iPadis equipped with1GHz custom Apple A4 SoC.

Apple's iPad has a 9.7-inch, 1024x768 multi-touch display; while P88 has 10.2-inch, 1024x600 touchscreen display

P88 has a160 or 250GB hard drive, whereas iPad: 16, 32, or 64GB flash storage. The claimed battery life of P88 is1.5 hour; while that of iPad is 10 hours.
